OK Foods Donates 40,000 Pounds of Chicken to Arkansas Foodbank
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – (December 7, 2015) – The Arkansas Foodbank received 40,000 pounds of chicken from OK Foods of Fort Smith. Executive Director of the Arkansas Foodbank said “today’s donation by OK Foods represents a tremendous partnership that will help provide over 48,000 meals to families in need this holiday season.”
Arkansas leads the nation in percentage of hungry seniors. Nearly 20% of Arkansans and more the one and four children are considered food insecure. In Oklahoma, the food insecurity rate is nearly one in six people. Feeding America food banks, such as the Arkansas Foodbank, provide nutritious meals to hungry people.
“Our charge at OK Foods is to nourish the world,” said OK Foods CEO Trent Goins. “We are proud to support the work of our many community food banks serve the needs of our hungriest neighbors.”
