OK Foods’ Nancy Gushing Accepts National Award
FORT SMITH, Ark. (August, 14, 2015) – On behalf of The Arkansas Association for Food Protection (AAFP), Nancy Gushing accepted the 2015 Best Affiliate for Overall Meeting award by the International Association for Food Protection (IAFP). Gushing serves as the laboratory manager for OK Foods, ensuring the safety and quality of OK products.
Statement for CEO Trent Goins:
“For nearly 20 years, Nancy has been a valued team member at OK Foods. This honor recognizes her efforts and those of the Arkansas Association of Food Protection to improve the safety of our food supply in Arkansas. I am proud to have Nancy as a coworker and look forward to her continued success.”
The award criteria measures the quality of programing of the affiliates of the IAFP. IAFP stated that “AAFP’s meeting efforts met the criteria for the award through topics which addressed emerging food safety issues; with 75 percent of its meeting attendees holding AAFP membership; by consolidating resources and holding its meeting in conjunction with another food safety-related organization (as well as obtaining sponsors); by its diverse group of speakers from industry, government and education; and by incorporating the food science student research competition through a poster display. The award consists of a mounted certificate.”
